From a design snob’s point of view, Las Vegas is an easy target…or is it?

Most linguistic experts agree that “las vegas” is Spanish for “the meadows,” which is kind of funny if you’ve ever been there. Early explorers did find water nearby so it all kind of makes sense. The famous sign, as seen below is located on the strip south of Russell Road. It reads “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada” on the front and “Drive Carefully” and “Come Back Soon” on the back.
